Protocol was overrated, anyway.
It was the middle of the day, a weekend, and Mr. Benjamin Karr lay sprawled on the grass in the middle of Dark City official park. He blinked, staring up directly at the sun, knowing nothing could hurt his sharp vampire vision. He was currently studying full time at the local university, under the alias of any normal eighteen year old. He spent most days like this, alone. Despite his hundred years of this life, he still didn't feel comfortable around human beings because he wasn't one of them. He doubted he ever would. He was pretty skilled at keeping his emotions and vampire desires in check, but never stopped fearing the worst.
People moved awkwardly through the park, maneuvering around him. He didn't pay them any attention, and continued to blink his dark eyes at the sun, trying to drown out any thoughts about himself, the future or anything else really, out of his head.

Eloise hated her life...the so called vampire that she liked had pratically disappeared on her. Her cousin was so obsessed with his need to keep his vampiress in tone and well, she needed to get out of the mansion. She needed something in which to lose herself and well....the park was practically her own salvation. Eloise had strayed out of the manor in an blue Tudor-like gown. Rosabel or Lily had earned her favor on her fasion sense so she kind of followed but she did her good. She tried to keep herself in the shade as she found her usual spot, overlooking the park as she made her way to a tree and sunk down, sighing heavily. How could things get any worse for her? She needed distraction....pratically anything!

-ooc: sorry for the lateness! I just saw this!-
Benjamin watched as an unfamiliar woman crossed in front of him. By the look of her dress, she was five hundred years lost. She looked upset. He sighed, knowing there was no way he was going to ignore her now. He pushed himself up off the grass into a sitting position. She was barely four feet from him. "Ah..." he said awkwardly, searching for the right words. Clearing his throat, he decided a joke was best to cut the tension, and pointed in the other direction. "I think the Halloween party is that way."

OOC: hey,it's cool. Eloise looked at him and sighed heavily. The first person who came up to her had to make a joke. Perfect...Eloise looked at him and said," Don't start...." Eloise was in no mood to hear a joke. "If I was on my way to a party,I would have been lost centuries ago..." Eloise then sighed heavily and said,"Not all vampires like us live in the modern days you know..." Eloise knew he was clearly a vampire...she could smell it on him. Eloise then said to clear herself up,"I'm sorry....I don't mean to be rude,I'm just not in the best of moods at the moment." Eloise then muttered to herself,"God I hate my cousin."
